JaHanna Martinez Bio

JaHanna Martinez was first exposed to the fashion industry at the young age of 16 taking a summer course at F.I.T. In New York City, after completing the summer course she knew this was her destiny, she then interned while in high school with New York base couture designer John Robert Miller working with him till going on to college at Parsons School of Art and Design NYC, receiving a BFA in Fashion Design in 1998, and received the prestigious “Solstiss Lace Award” (the number #1 'Lace' house in France, famous for hand beading a garment), this award also included visiting Solstiss lace house in France.

After graduating, JaHanna worked as a freelance designer in the fashion industry with several companies from high end couture companies like, Donna Haag, to worldwide companies like, Victoria Secret's, to mass market companies like, K-mart, getting experience from different aspects of the fashion industry.

While JaHanna was still working in the fashion industry she also was launching her first company in 2003 which was a womenswear contemporary clothing line, using the money that she was making from working in the fashion industry she was able to fund her company. Selling her line directly to customers from the "young designers market nyc,"; Being part of “the Edge NYC” which was a manhattan based store for emerging designers; To traveling across the country selling her wears at many wonderful shopping events.

In 2009 JaHanna Martinez transferred her clothing line to a hair accessory line. Taking her love for fabric and clothing and translating her ideas into beautifully unique designed headbands. JaHanna is currently self employed and works with her husband and Partner Dimas, travels across America and Canada selling her headbands at unique shopping events, and has an online store www.jahannamartinez.com.
